Money Match automatically returns qualifying properties to Iowa taxpayers without requiring the individual to file a claim on GreatIowaTreasureHunt.gov. The program cross references data from the Iowa Department of Revenue to identify the property owner. We will first mail a letter to verify the matched address is still current. If we do not receive returned mail, Money Match will mail a check to the matched address approximately three weeks later.
No additional action is required on the recipient’s part, except cashing the check of course!

It includes checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit, over payments, insurance checks, payroll checks, utility refunds, dividends, stocks, bonds, contents of safe deposit boxes and more.
