Treasurer Smith Protects Iowa's Money 

As the State’s banker and chief financial officer, I deposit and invest State funds, while also ensuring they are available when needed. I invest Iowa’s pooled money, coordinate bonding and return unclaimed property through the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt. Additionally, I help individuals with disabilities achieve a better life experience with the State’s ABLE program and help families save for future education expenses through the State’s two 529 education savings programs, ISave 529 and the IAdvisor 529 Plan.
