DES MOINES – State Treasurer Roby Smith is celebrating Money Smart Week, a national awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances. “I am dedicated to providing resources and information to empower Iowans to make informed financial decisions. Financial burdens and financial well-being are not limited to a particular age group or stage in life, and Money Smart Week is an opportunity for all of us to brush up on topics surrounding personal finances,” said Smith.
This year, Money Smart Week is April 15-21. The campaign is hosting webinars on budgeting, financial institutions, debt relief and employer retirement plans with each session lasting approximately 20 minutes. Visit MoneySmartWeek.org to register for these free sessions.
In addition to the webinars provided by Money Smart Week, the Treasurer will be releasing videos of his own to the office’s social media platforms. “I’m passionate about spreading awareness and information on a variety of financial concepts,” Smith stated. “Building upon the momentum of Money Smart Week, I will be sharing additional details about topics like budgeting, saving, identity theft, credit scores and more. This week is a great opportunity to learn something new that could have a lasting effect on your financial well-being.”
