All political subdivisions of the state are required to report outstanding long-term obligations to the state treasurer annually. These obligations include bonds, notes, capital leases and loans. The information reported is presented here to help Iowans better understand the financial obligations of their local and state governments. All data is reported by the political subdivision who owes the obligation.

2017 Outstanding Obligation Report by Counties

  • Here you can find total obligations within a county of your choice. Functionality includes the ability to drill down and see information about each reported obligation. Debt per capita or per enrolled student, as applicable, is also available.

2017 Outstanding Obligation Summary Report 

  • This report shows total obligations reported by each entity, subtotaled by entity type.
